Recycling to Create a New Crayon

I am a Pre-K teacher and my students really love to color. They make drawings and color pictures all the time. This creates several piles of crayon nubs. I always hate to waste things, so I started recycling the tiny crayon nubs by melting them down into new and fun shapes!

I have had my fair share of problems with my new creations…

but they do look cool once they are finished. The wax overflowed in the mold. This can be fixed by chipping the excess off, or my using a lighter to reshape the edges.

You can also find other crayons in my Etsy shop. The dinosaur crayons in the mold above are for my class, but I make other shapes too.

Uh-oh Naughty Santa

After some suggestions on Etsy I am now making the Uh-oh Naughty Santa Pin as an ornament too!

I will make a new listing just as soon as I take pictures and choose some ribbon for the new ornaments. But I baked and coated them with gloss yesterday, so they are coming to my shop soon!

Hello

Hello this is my newly created blog for Claycrab23’s clay shop, which is on etsy.com. Etsy is an awesome site where you can sell homemade items, vintage item, and supplies. I am in the process of fillling out the about page for my blog and setting up the widgets and so on.
